The ESV2015 conference offers opportunities for the attendees to get a real life experience of active safety systems.
 
 

Technical Demos at AstaZero

Gathering: In front of the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre, entrance 2.
Please note that buses leave at 13:15, not later!
Lunch will be provided on the bus, so please do not take your lunch at the venue.

AstaZero is a brand new proving ground for active safety testing with unique environments for road safety research. AstaZero’s facility is currently the only test facility in the world specifically developed for tests and research surrounding active safety. The proving ground contains a 5,7 km long rural road, a city area, a high speed area, and a multilane road. The facility is strategically placed in the centre of the West Sweden automotive cluster and the assembled expertise that exists within the field of safety. The stage 1 of the proving ground was opened in August 2014.

On Thursday June 11, 2015, after the closing ceremony, the attendees of ESV2015 are welcome to AstaZero for demonstrations of low and high speed active safety systems by several vehicle manufacturers and suppliers. A low additional cost will apply. AstaZero is located 50 min from Gothenburg city and 40 min from Landvetter airport. Transfer back to the city and also to Landvetter airport will be provided after the demos. www.astazero.com

Schedule:

13:15 Departure Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre, lunch will be provided on the bus
14:30 Demonstrations of safety systems at the high speed area and city area
16:30 Bus back either to Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre, or to Landvetter Airport, arriving at 17:15.

Visits to VTI Sim IV simulator, SAFER, Lindholmen Science Park, and finish at the Volvo Museum where Volvo Car Corporation and AB Volvo invite you to a special event related to Volvo Ocean Race, including a guided tour and lunch.
Buses from the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre will take you there and back.

09:00 – 10:00 visit at the VTI driving simulator - Sim IV
10:15 – 11:00 visit at Lindholmen Science Park & SAFER, kaffe take away

VTI driving simulator - Sim IV

The VTI driving simulator Sim IV is located in Lindholmen Science Park. The Sim IV is one of the world’s most advanced driving simulator and has a motion system which permits significant linear movement along both x and y axes. The simulator has both a passenger car compartment and a truck cab and is used in several projects within vehicle and road safety. The visual system consists of 9 projectors providing a 210 degrees forward field of view and 3 LCD displays for the rear view mirrors. Edge blending and geometrical correction is provided by a state of the art system. www.vti.se

 

Lindholmen Science Park

Lindholmen Science Park is an international Science Park focusing on three areas: Mobile Internet, Intelligent vehicles and transport systems, and Modern media and design. In Lindholmen Science Park stakeholders from the business, university and public sectors collaborate. Test Site Sweden

Test Site Sweden (TSS) is a national project and a neutral meeting place for joint research projects in safety, the environment and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Its purpose is to promote the growth of knowledge and the development of new technology in the field. Test Site Sweden will also promote a strong international reputation and a showcase of Sweden’s expertise in the automotive industry, road safety and the traffic environment. SAFER

SAFER Vehicle and Traffic Safety Centre at Chalmers is a research centre where 30 partners from the Swedish automotive industry, academia and authorities cooperate to make a centre of excellence within the field of vehicle and traffic safety. SAFER is located in Lindholmen Science Park and gathers 300 researchers. SAFER is the designated coordinator and point of contact for organizing the ESV conference. www.chalmers.se/safer
