During the week June 8-12, 2015, the ESV2015 took place in Gothenburg. It was a true success. 856 delegates from 26 countries and 34 sponsors and exhibitors all together made ESV2015 a unique meeting place. More than 170 paper presentations were given and eight student teams participated in the student competition. The hosts SAFER, Swedish Transport Administration and NHTSA are very satisfied and according to the evaluation the delegates are too.
The Collegiate Student Safety Technology Design Competition (SSTDC) gives young scholars from Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America an exciting opportunity to design, build, and demonstrate a cost effective conceptual scale model of a vehicle safety technology. Eight student teams were invited to ESV2015 and presented and displayed their prototypes. The winner and runner up were announced during the closing ceremony.
During the opening session of the 24th ESV conference on June 8, twelve experts were awarded the U.S. Government Awards. Five awardees received the U.S. Government Special Awards of Appreciation, which is in recognition of and appreciation for outstanding leadership and special contributions in the field of motor vehicle safety. Seven awardees received the U.S.
